Hmmm. Well, Bath is number 1. The Wildkittens have put together an impressive string of accomplishments that is not rivaled in this area. But that is the past. Right now, who is the best? bath has a young team and should do very well next year, but this year they won't be the best in their conference. Well, Ottoville is doing very well to make a name for itself. Columbus Grove is nobody to mess around with either. Shawnee has the best player in the area in Amber Heistan, a 6'0" senior wing player who can play all five positions effectively at the high school level. Findlay has an impressive one-two punch in 6'0" senior forward Carlie Roethlisberger and 6'2" junior post player Jonette McQueen, but they need to use McQueen more effectively, and they need some guards to compliment them. Ottawa Glandorf normally is right there at the top, but doesn't have the srong interior game it has been used to. Coach Smith will have Haley Ducey and the girls ready though! So in this area this year, I have to go with Shawnee as being #1. Coach Heistan has put a solid feeder program together and they have talent throughout the program. Let me know if you think differently.
Delphos St. Johns could be considered as the top program. They are loaded year in and year out. They have great young talent coming up (arguably the best competitng with LCC, Van Buren, Ottoville, Delphos Jefferson, Shawnee and McComb). Ottoville has been great the last few years. I can't wait to see some games this year.
